Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez

VICE PRESIDENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT | RELATIONSHIP MANAGER

If you are a fan of Major League Baseball, you certainly know the name Iván “Pudge” Rodríguez. He had a very successful pro career as one of the best catchers to ever play the game. While he hung up his cleats about a decade ago, he hasn’t slowed down any. He has remained very active as an entrepreneur, a charitable fundraiser, a coach, a sports analyst and now as an important team member here at Adalan Private Wealth.

With his great experience and empathy, Iván is in agood position to reach out to young players who are just starting out. “I know what it is to come from a small island, Puerto Rico, with not much when I was 16, to become a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and become very successful financially,” Ivan says. He also knows the importance of having a good financial advisor to avoid making mistakes and to build a lasting legacy.

“A lot of my athlete friends made a lot of financial mistakes, as I also did, but I learned from them and am willing to share with people that we all need a good financial team whenever we find financial success,” Iván adds.

“I know that everyone here at Adalan Private Wealth is dedicated to providing sound advice for each of our clients and their families,” says Iván. “I want to help make sure we are not only educating them about their financial matters, but also having fun while doing it. You will find me entertaining some of our clients on golf trips and at charity events.”

Ivan joined Adalan Private Wealth in July 2021. His previous accolades and accomplishments speak for themselves. He is Major League Baseball’s all-time games leader as catcher, a 14-time All Star, a 13-time Gold Glove winner, a seven-time Silver Slugger recipient, a 2003 World Series champion, the 2003 National League Championship Series MVP and the 1999 American League MVP. He played for more than 21 years on five different teams. He is in the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame and the Latino Hall of Fame.

After his retirement from baseball, his love for the game endured and, to this day, he continues to be involved in the sport as special assistant to the general manager of the Texas Rangers, coaching various major and minor league ballplayers, and working as a sports analyst for Fox Sports Southwest.

Iván is also passionate about devoting time and energy to many different communities and nonprofit organizations, including We Are All Human, Fundacion Posada de Moisés and the United Way. “I also love to teach youth baseball clinics and make an impact on the younger generation,” Iván says. “I enjoy doing Q&As and speeches that inspire future generations to dream big.”

Iván is originally from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, and now lives in Weston, Florida, with his wife, Patricia. They have three children, Ivan, Amanda and Ivanna. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, biking, traveling, and spending time with his wife and their whole family.
